OUR OBJECTIVES
The objectives
of the national organization are Historical, Educational,
Benevolent, Memorial,
and Patriotic. We strive to honor the memory of
those who served and fell in service to the Confederacy;
to protect, preserve and mark historic sites; to
collect and preserve the truthful history of the
War Between the States; to record the noble deeds
of Southern women during and after the war;
to fulfill the sacred duty of benevolence toward
the survivors and toward those dependent on them;
to assist descendants of veterans in securing an
education;
and to cultivate friendships among the members of
the organization.
MEMBERSHIP
Those persons eligible for
active membership are women no less than sixteen
years of age
who are blood descendants, lineal or collateral,
of men and women who served honorably in the
Army, Navy, or Civil Service of the Confederate
States of America, or gave Material Aid to the Cause.
Becoming a member of the United
Daughters of the Confederacy is a privilege
and an opportunity to share in the true preservation
of the Southern History.
