Jefferson Davis Highway  The State of California has five markers which belong to the Jefferson Davis Memorial Highway system erected by the United Daughters of the Confederacy.  All were installed by California Division and/or one of its chapters.  Originally, the route used was Highway 101 from San Diego to San Francisco, and then turned inland to the Oregon border.  The route was changed to Highway 99 in 1939 by Washington Division UDC.  The Pacific states agreed to have the earlier official route changed to Highway 99 as well.
